History & Background (Dossier)

Othaunlere is an quiet, pleasant world without heavy industrialization and few commercially viable exports aside from raw materials. There is abundant native life here in an elegant collection of ecosystems. Ambitious local farmers are still struggling to bring in yields above the self sufficient level. Excess agricultural yield with improved efficiency is hoped to lead to lucrative contracts for off world trade. As yet the subsector at large is unaware of their unique crops and produce. There are some vocal conservationists and imperial xenobiologists who want to stifle large scale agricultural production, for fear of its destructive impact on indigenous food webs.

The local baronet and his loyal knight preside over a small but efficient port; the starport is proud of their patriotic contributions. Local security services are strained however, when army assault units from the orbiting Irale Class Brigade Transports disgorge a battalion or two of soldiers from the Gimgir Subsector Imperial Army Legion for shore leave. Many local farmers have taken to locking up their daughters and sons.

• The system is a member of the Imperium and contains a Naval Base. The 1562nd AssaultRon of the 156th Fleet is stationed here.
