System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Zaragoza is a Twilight Zone World.

  • In the narrow region between permanent night and permanent day, the primary star eternally hangs on the horizon.

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones prime H region.
  • It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Zaragoza is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Zaragoza has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Zaragoza has 85-95% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few small continents, and a number of islands and archipelagos. Dry land is limited. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Extensive native life. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Zaragoza is a backwater, with hardly any development and seeing almost no traffic. Some of the planets and moons within it have never had an intelligent being visit them.

  • Information about the system is sparse.
  • What few resources the system has are largely untapped.

There is little activity within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is very infrequent: ships rarely visit.
  • Commo generally only picks up natural background noise and static.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: previously undocumented groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Zaragoza has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Zaragoza possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.

World Government (G)[edit]

Zaragoza has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Military[edit]

Private bodyguards and hired security.

World Law (L)[edit]

Zaragoza has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 3 (very scarce)
  • Labor: 0 (none)
  • Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
  • Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -3 (very unimportant)

World Demographics (P)[edit]

Zaragoza has a population of 80

Urbanization[edit]

A single central facility with a few outlying structures and compounds.

  • Almost all of the surface of the world is wilderness.

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 1 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
  • Symbols: 1 (extremely concrete)
