Xantype is a poor, non-agricultural and industrial high-population hellworld with a billion or more sophonts in size who still struggle to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Corelian Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Xantype is a quaternary star system.
- The primary is a yellow main sequence.
- The secondary is a red main sequence.
- The tertiary is a red main sequence.
- The quaternary is a tiny white dwarf stellar remnant.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
No information yet available.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Xantype is a Meso World between 5,600km and 7,200km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.32G and 0.46G. The horizon will appear about 3.6km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Xantype has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
- Atmospheric oxygen is produced by a photocatalytic reaction between stellar energy and surface minerals.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Xantype has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Satellites:[edit]
No information yet available.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No information yet available.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No native life: the world has an abiotic oxygen atmosphere.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Xantype has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
Facilities[edit]
Port facilities within the system include:
- No information yet available.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Xantype possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Xantype is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. A continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and replaced by allies or protégés. The reasons for the change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
World Military[edit]
No information yet available.
World Law (L)[edit]
Xantype has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: D (very abundant)
- Labor: 8 (hundreds of millions)
- Infrastructure: C (very extensive)
- Efficiency: +4 (advanced)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 2 (ordinary)
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Xantype has a population of 7,000,000,000
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large cities, each surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- Cities are located across the world.
- Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
- Regional centers may have their own starports.
- A few regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: B (discordant)
- Acceptance: B (extremely friendly)
- Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
- Symbols: B (abstract)
