Valeria is an icy, non-agricultural and preindustrial world, whose surface is ice-capped and with nearly all of its water frozen.

  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It is a world working toward being an industrial powerhouse but lacks an adequate workforce to do so. It must now import many of its manufactured and high tech goods.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Bakkula Subsector of Ilelish Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
  • It is an Xboat hub.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Stellar Data[edit]

  • It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

Valeria orbits at the outer edge of the star's narrow habitable zone.

It has a very slow rotation period: one local day is equivalent to 43.3 standard days (1040 standard hours).

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Valeria is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Valeria has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Valeria has 05-15% of its surface covered by ice, either in vast sheets or contained deep within craters or fractures on the surface. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants can be got by mining and melting ice.

  • The surface of the world is composed of a crust of ice many kilometers thick.
  • Much of the surface is cratered and covered in thick layers of regolith and dust of meteoric origin, leaving only around 10% of the icy outer shell exposed.
  • Below the outer icy shell there may be a world-ocean of liquid water.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Llelish Interstellar, the leading media corporation within Ilelish Sector, maintains facilities and offices on the world.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Valeria has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Valeria has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Valeria possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Valeria is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Law (L)[edit]

Valeria has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

Imperial Landed Nobility[edit]

Valeria, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: 2 (ordinary)

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: G (extremely abundant)
  • Labor: 6 (millions)
  • Infrastructure: C (very extensive)
  • Efficiency: +4 (advanced)
