Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

This anomaly is located within the Great Rift, far from any star system.

It comprises two black holes and a subgiant star, all orbiting relatively closely to one another. It is often referred to as the Havok ("Havoc") system but is correctly termed 'The Havok'.

Stellar Data[edit]

Havok Alpha and its slightly smaller companion Havok Beta are black holes orbiting one another. They are projected to spiral together over the next few million years. Havok Gamma is an orange subgiant star, orbiting the binary black holes and slowly losing mass to them.

The Havok has three stars in the star system.

Notes[edit]

Diagram Binary Stars Orbits 20.png

Only the flattened, stretched subgiant star and a stream of material spiralling inward is visible to the naked eye. The black holes are tiny, each having a Schwarzschild radius of around 15 km, and though they are surrounded by disks of glowing superheated material they are so miniscule against the star and it's debris that they are effectively invisible.

The two black hole objects have a separation of 0.75 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.

All of the anomaly's stellar scale objects cause interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

Radiation levels within the anomaly are dangerously high.

  • Exposure to elevated radiation levels causes serious health issues and may damage unshielded electronic devices.

System Data[edit]

A single planetary body exists within the anomaly. It consists of:

Planet Data[edit]

Alien Moon 107-0 Large.jpg

The anomaly's only planetary body, designated Havok Omega, follows the orbit of the star Havok Gamma, lying in its L5 trojan point. Little is known of it other than it has a dense, exotic atmosphere and strong magnetic field.

Planetary Size (S)[edit]

Unknown.

Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Havok Omega has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Unknown.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Havok (or Havoc) is visited only by scientific vessels. It is said that objects have been detected orbiting very close to the event horizon of both black holes and that one in particular follows a relativistic spiral between the two. The odds of this happening naturally are incredibly small, meaning that if this object exists, it was placed in a calculated orbit by intelligent beings. At its extremely high speed and subject to enormous gravitational forces, this object would experience extreme time dilation effects, essentially preserving it from the ancient past. The existence of this object has never been proven.

Interference and heavy static generated by the various objects within the anomaly cause issues with sensor systems, making further analysis difficult.
