Taravesh is a high-population, industrial world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Trindel Confederacy in the Beckann Subsector of Gateway Sector.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
Taravesh has a purely military shipyard located in orbit around one of the gas giants. Raw materials are mined in the system's belts and on gas giant moons, processed at an orbital facility, then shipped out to the yards aboard large in-system freighters. These are an obvious target for sabotage or a deniable pirate raid so are provided a security detachment.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Taravesh is an important source of fibron, an electrochemically grown material spun into superconducting filaments for use in computers and microelectronics.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Taravash is the capital of one of the three states that collectively make up the Trindel Confederacy.
Recently occupied by a Galian battlefleet under the command of Rear Admiral Jaime Marcus, this world is under martial law. It is one of the Confederacy's most important centers of industry and manufacturing. The occupation, carried out to prevent Viyard Concourse occupation, has brought relations between Gateway (Gateway 1220) and Trindel (Gateway 1725) to a new low.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Taravesh has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Taravesh has a population of 1,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Taravesh possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Taravesh is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
Currently, the world is in fact under Galian Federation occupation.
World Military[edit]
This was the former home port for the 2nd TCN Battle Squadron, and the site of manufacture for the TCN's Taravesh Class Gunboats. The survivors of the squadron have been forced to withdraw, yet vow to retake their world.
World Law (L)[edit]
Taravesh has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Historical Data[edit]
The storied Galastrian Metals corporation collapsed during a workers' revolt on Tharver in 302, but within three years the League Concord had been signed, establishing the Galian Trade League, a trade corporation which essentially took over most of Galastrian's former holdings under looser reigns of authority and control. By the mid-500s, the League incorporated all of what is today the Galian Federation, the Plavian League, the Trindel Confederacy, and the coreward worlds of the Viyard Concourse.
