Gateway (Ga 1220) is a ring of many small, rich worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.

• These worldlets are rich with a promising and very lucrative economy. The quality of life is on the rise here.
• The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
• This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
• It is a member of the Galian Federation in the Windfleet Subsector of Gateway Sector.

Gateway (Ga 1220) is the nexus of a trade network which spans much of the Gateway Sector.

Gateway orbits Thegisthil, named for a Nanisthi-Vilani word meaning "orange-gold".

History & Background

Gateway was originally an asteroid colony constructed by Galastrian Metals for processing and shipment of raw materials from particularly rich asteroid belts circling the star Thegisthil.

This is the construction site for the Gateway Class Heavy Cruisers.

The Fathers' Hall is a major point of interest.

World Government

The government is served by Tartheniancorp, Gateway's private security organization.

• In the 1100s-1110s, Tartheniancorp is engaged in Operation Nova, a far-flung, covert op directed against organized piracy throughout Gateway Sector.

World Economy

Gateway's principal natural resources are ferrous ores still mined from the original planetoid shell, and radioactive ores, crystals, and raw hydrocarbons mined from other sites within the system. Gateway Station itself is of primary importance as a starport, ship building centre, recreational port, and corporate finance centre. Most of the sector's trading companies and major corporations have offices, brokers, or factors at Gateway, paying taxes and operating fees.

  • 302: Galastrian Metals collapses.

• 612: Galian Trade League and Hochiken Republic fight the 'Heptad War' over the Heptad Worlds of Windfleet
