- x4 gas giants.
System Chart[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
- The orbital period of Suur is 1395.26 days.
- The rotational period of Suur in standard hours is 37.54 hours
- Suur has an axial tilt of 27 degrees with an orbital eccentricity of 0.005
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Suur is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
- Suur has a diameter of 7279 miles / 11646 Km.

- The surface gravity on Suur is 0.73 of standard and as a result the planet is deemed to be of standard gravity.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Suur has an Exotic Atmosphere and possesses an unusual gas mix which requires the use of oxygen tanks. Additionally, protective suits, while not necessary, are recommended. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- Suur's atmosphere is exotic and dense in makeup. There are high levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and this has caused increased greenhouse effects resulting in high base temperatures on the planet surface. The mix of gases is such that the atmosphere is unbreathable to most sophont races and as result stepping outside of sealed locations does require the use of breathing apparatus and oxygen tanks.
- The surface pressure of Suur is 1.6 standard norms.
- Base surface temperature of Suur is 53.94c (129.1f)
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Suur has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- The ocean, seas and lakes of Suur are comprised of Hydrocarbons and they cover c.59% of the planetary surface.
- The planet has seen extensive hydrosphere terraforming increase surface liquid by c.5% over the last 200 years.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
Nobility (N)[edit]
Suur, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdom of a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversees affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight, the Imperial representative to the world.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial viscount.
* This is purely a place holder, use Protectorate Nobility for game purposes.
Protectorate Nobility (N)[edit]
Suur, as a member world of the Vilani Protectorate, holds the estates of two members of the politys Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of a Protectorate knight.
- It holds the fiefdom of a Protectorate viscount.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Suur has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Facilities[edit]
Port facilities within the system include:
- In addition to the two Type A and one Type B starports located on the planetary surface there are also 3 Type F spaceports. The extensive industrial base and interstellar trade requires an extensive and readily accessable port system.
- The starports maintain extensive facilities that would be expected at such locations; shipyards, maintenance facilities, accomodation, starship berths etc. The spaceports although substantial are mainly focussed on the industrial activities and as such are located near to production or extraction sites. As a result although they offer a good range of services they tend to be off a somewhat less refined offering.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Suur possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Suur is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
- The Government of Suur is known as the Kakashaar. This group of individuals are all Oligarchs who rose to positions of leadership and power over an extended period of time due to their influence and control of the natural wealth within the Suur planetary system. Exploiting natural resources over many centuries the corporate facilities and dependencies owned and manipulated by this small group of people have ensured total control of Suur.
- Although the Kakashaar is seen as a stable government it is not without its own internal conflicts. The organisation is made of several major Oligarch families along with a wider group of allies and "hangers on" that between them devide up the manufacturing, mining and production of political wealth of the planet. Effectively anybody not a direct member of one of these families in all probability works for one or more of them either directly, indirectly or even covertly.
- The Kakashaar ensured its long term prosperity by allying the planet with the Vilani Protectorate. By taking this step they have maintained long term prosperity and peace both within the borders of the Vilani Protectorate and also against external aggressors by building a Vilani Protectorate naval base in orbit above Suur.
- Diplomats that operate on behalf of the Kakashaar are personally selected by lead members of the government to work within the wider Vilani Protectorate and also to grow trade with those non-aligned systems located further afield.
World Military[edit]
- In orbit above the planet is the Masalamarmii Naval Base. This orbital base not only houses a large patrol fleet it also hosts a significant ship building and maintenance station for the Vilani Protectorate naval vessels.
- The base has 3 patrol fleets that include several different demoninations of naval ship. The backbone of these patrol fleets are cruisers however these are supplemented by escorts and destroyers. The base is responsible for the protection of the entire Hedreundides Subsector border along with ensuring a presence is maintained to ensure internal security should it be needed.
- The Vilani Protectorate also maintains a Marine Training Facility both on the planetary surface as well as at the Masalamarmii Naval Base.
- A locally produced warship is the new Suurian Might class Destroyer.
World Law (L)[edit]
Suur has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. Travel documents are frequently checked, and destinations must often be declared when traveling substantial distances across the world.
- The levels of legal restrictions across Suur were orginally put in place due to the hazardous nature of the planet itself. Restriction of movement was established and maintained by the early colonists to protect the population. Over the decades and eventually centuries the rise of the Oligarchs meant those restructions became codified in law and personal movement etc is restricted to very prescribed places.
- Restrictions of weapons alongside a wide range of other products is another way for the Oligarchs to remain in control. If the only weapons are in the hands of the planetary paramilitary Oligarch controlled police force then the populace is kept under control.
- What should be remembered is that the vast majority of locals do not see any problem with this as they have always lived this way. The have fulfilling lives maintaining the prosperity of Suur, they live in safe communities in well maintained arcology cities and other facilities and as such have no reason to question the constant checks on identity etc that comes with the high law level on Suur.
- Although the planetary norm of law is classified as a rating of B how that law is applied by differing areas under different direct Oligarch control does cause some concern when populations from two differing areas (even within the same city) interact with it. This non standard appliance and enforcement of the law can and does cause some level of discord amongst the populace when witnessed or discovered. This is most often seen when a member of the Oligarchs inner circle perhaps bends the law to their own ends and is subsequently perceived to be "getting away with things".
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 7 (tens of millions)
- Infrastructure: 7 (generally available)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: +2 (ordinary)
- Suur produces significant amounts of Ores, Radioactives and Compounds that are extensively used and traded both within the system and across the Hedreunides Subsector
- In addition to the natural resources Suur also produces Non Metal products that are derived from the hydrocarbons found in the planets oceans.
- Across the surface of the planet that produce high quality spare parts used in the mining industry that dominates the system and several others systems in the subsector.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Suur has a population of approximately c.900,000,000
Urbanization[edit]
Suur has two "megacities" on the planet surface that between them house c800,000,000 sophonts.
- Niimirak - the capital city on Suur and home to the planetary government. This city has a population of c.500,000,000. This city maintains a starport Type A along with the associated support infrastructure.
- Arimakirun - the "second city" of Suur is an enormous manufacturing metropolis. This city has a population of c.300,000,000. Like Niimirak the city of Arimakirun also maintains a Type A starport.
- There is a "large" city with a population of c.9,000,000 named Gikema and this city also has a starport graded as Type B.
- There are a further 9 cities each with a population of c.9-15,000 sophonts.
- There is no orbital starport located in orbit above Suur.
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 8 (discordant)
*The population of Suur for the most part have common goals and desires in life, however the nature of their life being under the control of powerful Oligarchs does create a level of discord dependent on how they compare themselves to each other. This level of disordance for the most part is kept in check but if members of rival or differing Oligarch led communities interact it can create tension.
- Acceptance: A (very friendly)
*Locals are known to be welcoming and friendly and always keen to share conversation with outsiders. Although this is not discouraged by the authorities it is difficult to achieve given the restrictions on travel etc away from living accomodations and place of work. Most often this interaction is seen at planetary starports and associated facilities. Such employment is seen as a prestige oppportunity and those who are employed there regularly tell visitors about the wonderful if somewhat challenging lives the people of Suur live.
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
*Most visitors to Suur will see very little difference to other planets within the Vilani Protectorate. The usual facilities etc are available and provided visitors dont leave the starport then personal restrictions are not too onerous.
- Symbols: F (extremely abstract)
*Locals have developed numerous dialects and other ways to distinguish themselves from either each other or their "rival" regions, Oligarch communities etc.
