Rim Reach style="width: 250px; height: 350px; border: solid 1px black; float: right; clear: left"

Rim Reach Sector -- often rendered RimReach -- is found rimward of the Solomani Sphere. Rim Reach Sector is littered with shattered and broken worlds, which entered into the Long Night and have never come out the other side. The sector's numerous polities are militaristic and fierce, and more concerned with maintaining their superiority than ensuring the wellbeing of the realm and its peoples.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Short-range exploration and trade missions push out from the Solomani Confederation border as far as the middle of Rim Reach. However, rumours of the Valkyrie in the rimward end of the sector, as well as astrographic obstacles, prevent most further investigation.

Polities & Interstellar Relations[edit]

The Solomani Confederation, aware of the potential Valkyrie threat, wants to know as much as possible about the parasites without risking contamination. To this end, a quarantine science base has been set up in the coreward end of neighbouring OutReach Sector to rimward. Valkyrie infestations have been observed closer to Confederation borders, for example in the Malorn Sector, but the Solomani believe the race might originate in RimReach. Determining the means and extent of infestation is an important mission, but best carried out at arm's length.

Trade Routes (Economic Astrography)[edit]

The Dwennakon Main is the hub of most of the economic activity of the sector, as Jump-1 routes are hard to find given this region's lack of stars. It also happens to be the cultural core of the sector, as it has formed the heart of two of the most important pocket empires (the Isrokian Ascendancy and the Grand Dominion of Dwennakon) in the history of this sector. A large main also continues for a while into Loliath Subsector from Alduwai Edge Subsector in Amderstun Sector, though as most of this main consists of either barbaric or uninhabited worlds, it is of little economic importance.
