Quar has a very thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10 million and 100 million sophonts. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a client state of Third Imperium in the Cronor Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector. This world has a nearby Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Quar has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Quar orbits within its star's habitable zone.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Quar is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Quar has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Quar has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Prior to the Third Frontier War, Quar was a Viscounty and part of the County of Jewell.
The world was originally settled by Imperials, but was pronounced independent as a result of the armistice declared after the Third Frontier War. Quar was regained by the Imperium in the Fifth Frontier War. [3]
Although there is no Imperial Subsector Fleet the Quar system is home to an heavily-defended Imperial Naval Base. The base supports a small flotilla of patrol ships that operate in neutral space as well as some intelligence-gathering vessels.
Era: Milieu 1200[edit]
Every other independent world in the League of Spinward States actively petitioned to join. Quar, on the other hand, was actively recruited by the League and only joined after a lengthy courtship, and the League was required to make some concessions to cement the deal. Quar is a very valuable link world connecting the Querion Cluster (and rimward) with the Jewell Covenant (and trailing). It is highly defended, given its extremely exposed position. [4]
