Pelish is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.

  • This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Pelish has a solitary primary star.

  • It is an orange main sequence.

System Data[edit]

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones colder outer H- region.
  • It receives lower levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Pelish is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Pelish has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Pelish has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

  • The world experiences low temperatures.
  • Much of the surface is covered in glaciers, ice, frost, and snow.

Satellites:[edit]

Pelish retains three small vacuum moons.

  • The worlds orbit once every few weeks.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Extensive native life. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

Pelish is a quiet backwater with a stagnant economy and very little development.

  • Settlement within the system comes from spinward, from the heavily populated worlds of Theta Borealis Sector.
  • The resources of the system are largely untapped.

There is limited activity within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is relatively infrequent: ships only occasionally visit.
  • Commo regularly picks up signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
  • A single commercial navigation beacon may be active.
  • Vessels rarely operate among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date: additional groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Pelish has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Demographics (P)[edit]

Pelish has a population of 4000.

Urbanization[edit]

A central urban area surrounded by smaller satellite communities.

  • Outlying areas have a few isolated structures or compounds.
  • Almost all of the surface of the world is wilderness.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Pelish possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World Government (G)[edit]

Pelish has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Military[edit]

Small units of heavily armed security personnel.

World Law (L)[edit]

Pelish has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Economy[edit]

  • Resources: 9 (moderate)
  • Labor: 2 (hundreds)
  • Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
  • Efficiency: +1 (average)

Trade Data[edit]

  • Importance: -3 (very unimportant)

World Culture[edit]

  • Homogeneity: 8 (discordant)
  • Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
  • Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
  • Symbols: 2 (very concrete)
