Nystalux is a rich, agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Ventura (Theta Borealis) Subsector of Theta Borealis Sector.
- The world orbits the secondary star.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- It is the homeworld of the Sedas.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the secondary star's Habitable Zone.
- It lies within the zone's prime H region.
- It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the star's Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Nystalux is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Nystalux has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Nystalux has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- Much of the continental interior is an arid, hostile environment.
Satellites:[edit]
Nystalux retains two small, relatively close, trace atmosphere moons.
- They orbit once every few weeks.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A map of Nystalux, the nominated mainworld of the system, showing the oceans, large landmasses, highland regions, major rivers, and the polar icecaps.
- Far more detailed maps are available locally.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
Locations include:
- Ardiff City
- Bila River
- Emra City
- Japith City
- Phillidia, the ancient wreck of a downed Human pirate ship; this was the Sedas introduction to alien life.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life, filling every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Coastal regions and the fertile river flood plains are particularly rich with life.
Flora:
Plants include Berelta, the main staple of the Sedas diet. It grows 6 metres tall, with large, semi-transparent, circular leaves spaced closely around the main stalk.
Fauna:
Animals include the hollow-tongued Oopas order, which have a single eye and use gaseous jets to travel; the Soors, which produce live young from pouches on their necks and are partially photosynthetic; and the egg-laying, stocky Tikess.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Nystalux is a thriving world with an expanding agricultural economy.
Nystalux is the homeworld of the Sedas.
- They are hive-dwelling, six-limbed insectoids with a hard exterior carapace.
First contact occurred millennia ago.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Nystalux has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Nystalux has a population of 70 million Sedas.
Urbanization[edit]
Multiple large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.
- Inhabited areas are dotted across the world.
- Vast tracts of land are given over to agriculture.
- Large regions of the surface of the world remain as wilderness.
- Cities include crystalline Emra (located near a mountain of red granite), Japith with its hexagonal cell structure, and dome-enclosed Ardiff.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Nystalux possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Nystalux is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
- As hive dwellers, the Sedas keep detailed records, and most information is publicly available.
World Military[edit]
Approximately 300,000 warriors. Warfare is still largely theory on Nystalux, but the Sedas hives are ready should aliens intend them harm.
World Law (L)[edit]
Nystalux has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 9 (moderate)
- Labor: 6 (millions)
- Infrastructure: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Efficiency: -2 (fair)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 3 (somewhat typical)
- Symbols: 4 (concrete)
