New Paris is a rich, agricultural, nonindustrial garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts and high-grade living conditions due to a bustling economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to quickly rise barring outside forces.
  • This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
  • This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the McKenzie Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector in the Domain of Sol.

World Government[edit]

New Paris is governed by an small council of Imperial military officers overseeing the occupation of the system. This council handles the execution of government functions and is the sole arbitrator of criminal cases. The most senior officer stationed in the system is tasked with setting the rules by which the planet is governed.

The world of New Paris is rich due to its abundant agriculture supply that is sold to nearby systems. In exchange the importation of technology produced in those other systems feeds a thriving merchant class.

World Demographics[edit]

The inhabitants of New Paris are descendants of Solomani settlers and are mostly pure Solomani or mixed-Solomani today.

World Culture[edit]

The people of New Paris are notable for their agricultural identity that causes them to be enterprising but also conservative and untrusting of outsiders. Off-worlders should not expect to be welcome with open arms, but they will find a people who are ready to trade.

Historical Data[edit]

The world of New Paris was founded by Solomani due to its rich soil and potential for a self-sufficient life. During the Solomani Rim War the system found itself in the frontlines of the conflict as the two sides battled for control of the McKenzie subsector. The reason settlers first came to the planet was the same reason the two sides needed to maintain control of it.

After the war the Third Imperium was awarded the system as part of the armistice signed in 1002. Imperial rule was formally established at that time by the appointment of a military government. Solomani loyalties remain strong in the system as evidenced by periodic terrorist attacks against the occupation forces.
