Melantris is a high-population, industrial world with a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- This world is also the overall capital of an interstellar government with the massive extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Dynchia Comitia in the Melantris Subsector of Leonidae Sector.
- This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
- This world has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.

System Data[edit]
The fourth planet of Sialann is a large terrestrial world, with considerable liquid water, ice, and a hostile nitrogen-dominated atmosphere. This world (named Perentris) is being slowly terraformed by the Dynchia.
Two gas giants orbit the companion star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Melantris is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
- Specifically, gravity is at 0.77g.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Melantris has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Melantris has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
- Specifically, water covers 62% of the surface.

Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The local biochemistry is compatible with Humans, although some native foods are hard for non-Dynchia to digest.
Animal life has not produced anything with complex intelligence.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The proto-Dynchia planted on Melantris were subject to considerable genetic manipulation during the Ancient era. The experiment may have been intended to alter the fundamental psychology of the Human species, producing a strain of Humaniti with a distinctive series of social instincts. Dynchia have no sense of territorial claim nor (possibly related) any sense of distinction by sex or reproductive status.
Dynchia are tribal, but there is no sense of physical territory. The clans and tribes are physically intermixed. Every clan and tribe maintains its own shrines, at which rituals are held in honour of revered ancestors, but these are not necessarily anywhere near one another.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Melantris has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Depot.
- The world supports facilities of the Restai, the Dynchia scout service
World Population (P)[edit]
Melantris has a population of 4,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Dynchia Standard.
- Multiple Dynchia and Solomani languages.
Urbanization[edit]
Dynchia cities and other settlements tend to be carefully planned and extremely well regulated, with near-total use of recycling. This not only minimises ecological damage but also creates a very efficient economy. Growth is slow but sustainable.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Melantris possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)[edit]
Melantris is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
The Dynchia prefer oligarchical government. The highest-ranking members of each tribe or clan form a council to rule and guide the local population. At the highest level, the most senior member of the most senior clan in each nation -- known as its prince -- has a place on the council that rules the Comitia as a whole.
World Military[edit]
All adult Dynchia are potential combatants with at least some training as warriors, creating an enormous pool of available personnel from whom the few formally organised military units are recruited.
World Law (L)[edit]
Melantris has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
