Dynchia Standard

The common language of the Dynchia people.

The Dynchia have many distinct languages, some of which are spoken by only one tribe or even one clan. For thousands of years they developed "common tongues" to help members of different tribes communicate. The capstone of this process is the language called Dynchia Standard. Over 95% of Dynchia are (at least) bilingual, speaking Dynchia Standard as well as their own tribal language.

Most Imperial visitors have no trouble learning Dynchia languages, since their grammar and syntax are similar to that of Galanglic. Dynchia Standard is no exception, and in fact borrows many words from various Terran languages, as Solomani Humans form a minority population within the Dynchia Comitia.

Lexicon

• Dynchia: The people (DIN-chee'a)

• Kyr: Tribal Council

• Kyrantis: "Councillor", members of a clan council

• Kyrren: Clan Chief

• Parenkyr: Literally, a "two-hand council", meaning "council of 12" (Dynchia have six digits on each hand)

• Piradyn: A weapon much like a quarterstaff

• Restai: The Dynchia scout service

• Siega: A strider-type military craft

• Survu: A class of recon vehicle
