McKenzie is a vacuum world, with no atmosphere or hydrosphere. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Khandi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. McKenzie, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Gakpasar.

Remarks

Mainworld Data[edit]

McKenzie is a moon circling the gas giant, Candy.

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

McKenzie is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

McKenzie has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

McKenzie has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

McKenzie Extractions.jpg

Originally established as a miners colony, the world was abandoned during the Second Imperium after its mineral wealth had been extracted. The world was bought by Jaymi Gregorach McKenzie in 765 as a headquarters for McKenzie Extractions and home for the clan McKenzie.

Today, only family members are allowed to stay in the system for more than six months. The port Foxtrot Oscar (a phonetic radio insult intended to tell visitors to go away), is constructed from the remnants of ancient spaceships attached together by walkways. The main port complex is the hull of The Maverick, a decommissioned Imperial Voroshilef Class Battleship. Three ex-Imperial transports connected together form the warehouse section of the port. The only civilian settlement in the system is the clan home, deep underneath the port, known as Caern Sidhe.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

McKenzie has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
