• It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
• This is a "forbidden" world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here.
• It is a member of the Solomani Confederation in the Capella Subsector of Solomani Rim Sector.

• It is the homeworld of the Labrysians, a sophontic species and minor race.

Native Sophont: Labrysians

Labrys is the homeworld of a minor sentient species. The Solomani Confederation interdicts the system to prevent any contact with the inhabitants, who are at a TL-8 stage of development. The aliens are apparently uninterested in space exploration, and surprisingly seem unaware of the existence of human civilization.

Non-canon: Labrys (Solomani Rim 1140) is inhabited by a race evolved from omnivores and humanoid in appearance. The Boötean Federation brought its support of the Reform Movement into the open by offering aid and eventual membership to the Labrysans. Although a member of the Federation, the majority of the population is unaware of its other-world contact and dialogue is mainly through government channels.

History & Background (Dossier)

Some strange people on Labrys believe that the government is secretly in contact with advanced aliens. According to these conspiracy theorists, the government is in league with these aliens, granting them political control of Labrys in exchange for advanced technology. The aliens are said to look very much like Labrysians, with two arms, two legs, a head, etc., and so are capable of passing as Labrysians quite easily. The paranoid few insist that these aliens walk among the population, and that the general disinterest in space flight on the part of wider society is due to the manipulations of the government officials working to alien political agendas. Some have gone so deep into the alleged conspiracy as to supposedly know the name of this alien people, though the sources can't seem to get their story straight, since some call them the Hoomuns and some call them the Solamarni. Sensible people roll their eyes at this nonsense.

Labrys does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.

There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.

Labrys has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
