Kanell is relatively busy, with a thriving agricultural economy that supplies nearby Basgem with the majority of its food. It is hampered by a very low technological base.

There is some activity within the system.

• Commercial traffic is occasional, despite the world lying on the Korsumug Main. It mainly consists of large freighters delivering processed nutrients and collecting agricultural goods.
• Commo picks up occasional signals and private chatter from imported devices. Communications are in local languages and Riftian Anglic.
• A single commercial navigation beacon may be active.
• Vessels rarely operate among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.

It is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
