43rd Fleet
The 43rd Fleet is the Numbered Imperial fleet serving the Third Imperium stationed in the Lunion Subsector of the Spinward Marches Sector.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
After Fifth Frontier War: Most of the worlds of Lunion subsector are on the Spinward Main, resulting in a high volume of traffic and all the security issues that go with that. The fleet is kept very busy dealing with smuggling and occasional piracy, and undertakes long-term guardship deployments on a regular basis. The thinking behind these boring but effective standing patrols is that they create blocking points where a smuggler is almost certain to run into a navy ship. The deployments are moved around from time to time to keep the smugglers guessing, but the Navy tries to ensure that its presence is always felt. The main aggravation for Admiral Commanding, 43rd Fleet is interference from the Sector Admiral, whose headquarters is located one subsector to Trailing at Mora. Admiral Santanocheev is prone to micromanage his subordinates’ dispositions, especially those relating to systems close to the Lunion/Mora border. Thus smuggling in the Spinward side of Mora subsector is of course due to laxity among 43rd Fleet crews and their commanders, and so forth. A stream of demands and reprimands has resulted in over-emphasis on patrolling the Mora (Spinward Marches 3124) end of the Spinward Main, and a consequent rise in lawlessness elsewhere.

Regency[edit]
Nicknamed the Fulcrum Fleet The "Hub" fleet of the Regency has a mission similar to the 18ths, made more critical by its protection of the crucial shipyards and supply resource worlds of Lunion (Spinward Marches 2124) and Strouden (Spinward Marches 2327). In Antebellum times the Fulcrum received first pick of brand new warships, but now most of the local naval consignments go to Frontier fleets, and it must make do with lovingly maintained hand-me-downs. Besides defence, the fleet backstops the 151st, and maintains surveillance against Sword Worlder guerillas and smugglers.
