Hyphos is a nonindustrial, rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy is bustling and an increase in living conditions is expected in the near future.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Darkshade Subsector of Mavuzog Sector.
- It orbits the system's secondary star.
- This is a temperate world, with a climate of pleasant, average temperatures, considered to be an ideal or near-ideal environment by many different sophont species.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.

Notes[edit]
The two stars of the Hyphos system have an average separation of 75 AU and orbit a barycenter that lies between them.
- They have an orbital period around one another of approximately 480 standard years.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld, orbiting the secondary star.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds. Three orbit the primary star, two orbit the secondary star.
- x4 gas giants. One orbits the primary star, three orbit the secondary star.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Hyphos orbits towards the inner edge of the secondary star's habitable zone.
- It receives relatively high levels of stellar energy.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Hyphos is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Hyphos has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- It experiences relatively high temperatures.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Hyphos has 45-55% of its surface covered by liquid water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport[edit]
Hyphos has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Hyphos has a population of 5,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Technology Level[edit]
Hyphos possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World Government[edit]
Hyphos is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
