Fragadin is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Terrelay Subsector of Theron Sector.
- Vacuum worlds have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Fragadin has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange subgiant.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
The mainworld orbits within the outer system.
- It receives very low levels of stellar energy.
- The world orbits beyond the star's Jump Shadow.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Fragadin is a Small World between 2,400km and 4,000km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.1G and 0.17G. The horizon will appear about 2.5km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Fragadin has a pressure of less than 0.001 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Fragadin has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Satellites:[edit]
Fragadin retains two tiny planetoid moons.
- Their surfaces are cratered and irregular
- They orbit once every few days.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
- Locally, detailed maps may be available.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
(Placeholder chart, vacuum world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
No native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Fragadin is a quiet backwater with almost no development.
- The resources of the system are gradually being exploited.
A few organizations and private interests are active within the system.
- Commercial traffic is relatively infrequent: ships only occasionally visit.
- Commo regularly picks up signals and private chatter. Communications are in Riftian Anglic.
- The star causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.
- One or two commercial navigation beacons may be active.
- A vessel or two may be operating among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
Note that social data, though only 40 years old, may be out of date.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Fragadin has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Fragadin has a population of 5000
Urbanization[edit]
A few small commercial facilities are surrounded by satellite outposts.
- The population inhabit a single relatively large region.
- Structures and facilities are sealed against local environmental conditions.
- Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Fragadin possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Fragadin is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
World Military[edit]
Privately retained security personnel.
World Law (L)[edit]
Fragadin has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 6 (few)
- Labor: 2 (hundreds)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: +2 (good)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -2 (very unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Homogeneity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
