The subsector is named for a native species, which inhabits a number of Hive Federation worlds in the region.

Dradrip Subsector is divided by a rift region, with the rimward half containing the Dradrip Syndicate and the Hiver administrative subcapital. The coreward border is less important, sparsely inhabited save two agricultural worlds
