A sophont species, members of the Hive Federation.
As with many races in Hive Federation space, the species and its homeworld are designated with the same Gurvin label.
The Avocaa are integrated into the Federation, though the harsh environment of their dry, hellish homeworld means that Travellers are warned to take precautions when visiting. The population on their homeworld (Blaskon 2839) is 720,000,000 (alongside 80,000,000 aliens).
