The Danzig class Battlecruiser is a warship.
- It is a military ship and a Light Cruiser.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
These TL–11 vessels are deployed from the shipyards of Uldor (world) to form the backbone of the naval forces of the Four Worlds. They operate from the Naval Base at Uldor (world) and are, as yet, the major combatants of their 1st CruRon. They are fast but unarmored. They carry heavy missile batteries and a TL–11 meson gun spinal mount to take on enemy ships of the line. They have secondary roles as a light carrier with four squadrons of snub fighters and a full marine assault battalion. As a result they have an oversized crew for a vessel of their tonnage.

Basic Ship Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (...of ten subcraft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (...thousands of tons) where necessary. History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
These are new vessels and are intentionally misnomered for propaganda reasons. They are the size of Imperial light cruisers, medium cruisers at best. However, they have a battlecruiser approach. They are as heavily armed as possible, fast, and agile -- and yet utterly lacking in defensive armor, so they have to outmaneuver anything they cannot out gun. Thirty heavy missile bays and a factor B meson gun can go a long way to destroying typical escorts and light warships. Enemy ships of the line are another matter.
The carrier and troop transport functions are half steps at best to expand the design's versatility and flexibility for mission selection. Internal security and border patrol for the Four Worlds are within its capabilities at present. It has yet to be tested in open warfare in the Far Frontiers Sector.
The entire marine battalion can perform an orbital assault with their individual Drop Capsules, but recovery is hampered by a relative lack of recovery boats. The prototype of the class was considered overpriced. The production models are considered moderately priced by military analysts. They are being delivered in a reasonable amount of construction time without significant delays. The total number of vessels in the class is currently unknown. It could be considerable in light of Uldor's industrial ship building capacity.
Class Naming Practice/s & Peculiarities[edit]
Each vessel within the class is named by the government of the state that produces it. They generally draw on traditional naming protocols and it is not uncommon for a historical class name to be reused.
- Individual vessels within the class are issued specific serial numbers and transponder codes.
- Naming a ship is considered a serious affair and is generally accompanied by a traditional ceremony, usually pouring a local beverage over the bows of the craft. Starfarers tend to be superstitious folk and a ship with a frivolous name is considered "unlucky".
