Azo is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
- It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
- It is a member of the Tomon Trade Federation in the Clatt Subsector of Matzen Sector.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- World name is pronounced 'Ats-o'
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
No information yet available.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
- Azo has an orbital period of 392.45 standard days.
- The planet has a rotation period of 23.05 standard hours.
- Azo has an axial tilt of 21 degrees.
- The average surface temperature of Azo is 82c / 179.6f
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Azo is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
- The planet has a diameter of 2845 miles / 4552 kilometres.
- Azo has a molten core with a density of 0.94 standard
- The surface gravity of Azo is 0.35 standard and as a result the planet is classified as a low gravity world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Azo has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
- The atmosphere if Azo is classified as 'Trace Gases'. As such a vacc suit is required when operating outside of sealed environments.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Azo has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
- There is no free standing water on Azo and water can only be found deep under the planets crust in ancient aquafers. Even then less than 5% of the planet has any water present.
Satellites:[edit]
- Azo has no satellites.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
- The planetary surface of Azo spends its time switching between extreme heat and extreme cold. As such life as we know it cannot survive on the surface at all without extreme forms of protection. Even with that protection individuals are still limited in time outside due to the extremes still being hazerdous.
- The only reason Azo has any population given its extreme conditions are the discovery of ores and crystals that are utilised in many of the manufacturing industries across the Tomon Trade Federation. Such discoveries are only at the early stages of being mined and a large workforce is being transported here from across the Tomon Trade Federation to start exploiting the materials.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
- There are no native lifeforms on Azo.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World Starport (St)[edit]
Azo has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- Azo one signicant type C startport and several spaceports.
- The starport has a clearly industrial basis with a no frills demeanour to it.
- Large "coffin type" hotels are available for single person occupancy. Lots of bars and fast food establishments are interspersed with the less glamorous offerings that a transient work force urbanisation bring with it.
- The port itself can accomodate a wide range of vessels and has a seperate area for shuttles transiting from orbit.
- The port itself is located inside a huge facility that is only on the surface but also has several areas below ground. The surface element is proctected by a huge dome like construct that has an "airlock" type arrangements for vessels entering and leaving the facility.
Facilities[edit]
Port facilities within the system include:
- Extensive facilities exist at the starport for the maintenance and support of mining and exploration ventures.
- Large ship repair capabilities exist alongside warehousing and other support infrastructures.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Azo possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.

World Government (G)[edit]
Azo has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
- The local population is ultimately under the authority of the Tomon Trade Federation.
- The planet of Azo has no direct governmental control as its currently being explored for strip minining by several large corporations from across the Federation. It is fair to say these corporations do not always see "eye to eye" and industrial disputes do occur. The Federation at this early stage are prepared to look the other way until the operations are expanded and fruitful enough for them to get involved.
- The Starport has a contingent of Tomon Trade Federation marines who act as defence and policing unit. This is about the only level of true government that is in place with the Marine commander being the voice of authority over the starport
World Military[edit]
- Detachment of Tomon Federation Marines acting in defense and as a police force at the starport.
- Each corporation controlled facility maintains it own private security forces.
World Law (L)[edit]
Azo has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: B (abundant)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 1 (extremely limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
World Demographics (P)[edit]
Azo has a population of c.6,000,000
Urbanization[edit]
- Significant starport and associated infrastructure.
- Across the planet there are tens of urban sites eached managed by a seperate corporation with associated facilities. The larger ones have their own independant space ports.
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogeneity: A (discordant)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 7 (confusing)
- Symbols: D (very abstract)
