Astoa Subsector is located far away from most of Charted Space, and by some definitions partially defines its edge.
- It is the only subsector of Datsatl Sector that is entirely (every parsec, every corner, and the entirety of all four edges) claimed by a polity, specifically the Yaskoydri Technocracy. As such, it is analogous to a core subsector of the Third Imperium or Zhodani Consulate.

These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr248 through 11 starports (2 Class A, 3 Class B, 4 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 343,930 people. Driving this interstellar trade are four Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, two Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Astoa maintain three Scout bases. The average technology level is 4 (with most between 0 and 9). Astoa, subsector C of Datsatl contains 25 stars and 234 identified planets; 21 monostellar systems, two binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 18 of the 23 systems (78%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, four Poor (Po) worlds, one Vacuum (Va) world, and no Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.
Astoa has an estimated population of 895 million distributed across no High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, six Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, one Low population (Lo) world, and 11 Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Misabo (Datsatl 1907), Uyar (Datsatl 1805), and Aruvuts (Datsatl 1703). The population consists of 1 sophont groups.
