Anstan is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and barren in nature with no overt population, government, or law level.

• These worldlets would warrant hazardous environment precautions if anyone lived here.
• They could be populated if anyone had an inclination to do so...
• Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death.
• It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Plutting Subsector of Astron Sector.

• Asteroid belts have no climate, but experience extreme differences in temperature between direct starlight and shade.

Anstan is an Asteroid Belt, where all the bodies are in vacuum conditions requiring the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle a belt.

The Anstan Belt contains a few icy bodies. A few belt objects have frozen volatiles on their surfaces.

• Wilderness refueling is possible within the belt, provided a suitable icy object can be found.
