Taksarrgh is a nonindustrial world, that requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- In a technological universe, societies without industrial capability generally suffer as nearly all manufactured and high tech goods must be brought in at significant cost.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Anarsi Subsector of Vland Sector.
- 60% of the population consists of humans.
- 40% of the population is composed of Vargr.
- Taksarrgh is located on the Vilani Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Taksarrgh has a solitary primary star named Thueknen.
- It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- Taksarrgh, a very thin atmosphere world designated as the mainworld and orbiting within the narrow habitable zone.
- Two tiny vacuum worldlets orbiting beyond the outer edge of the habitable zone. They are designated alpha (α) and beta (β).
- The Zuerrzuela Belt, a dense rocky planetoid belt lying within the cold outer system.
- A small cratered vacuum world that orbits in the deep outer system. It is designated gamma (γ).
- Two frigid insidious atmosphere superterran worlds, designated delta (δ) and epsilon (ε) respectively, form the far outer system.
- A small vacuum world is the outermost planet of the system. It is designated zeta (ζ).
- A chart depicting the Taksarrgh system, based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye".
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Taksarrgh is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Taksarrgh has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Taksarrgh has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
A map of Taksarrgh, the nominated mainworld of the system, showing the oceans, continental landmasses and the largest islands, major highland regions, and the small polar icecaps.
- Far more detailed maps are available locally.
- Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
- Detailed survey data commands premium prices.
- A map of Taksarrgh based on data provided in "The Flaming Eye".
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Taksarrgh has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Taksarrgh has a population of 7,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- Around 60% of the population is made up of humans.
- Approximately 40% of the population consists of Vargr.
Urbanization[edit]
Around 98% of the population live in small rural communities dotted across the surface of the world. The major urban centers are:
- Gaedze (population 94,000), the capital city of the world and the site of the world's starport.
- Algzerrg (population 93,000), the administrative center of the western mainland region.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Taksarrgh possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Taksarrgh is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Taksarrgh has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 9 (moderate)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 6 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 7 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
- Symbols: A (abstract)
World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims and settles worlds across the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region. Conflicts escalate between Vargr and humans as the Vargr occupy former Ziru Sirka territory.
- circa -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 604 to 622: the Imperial Civil War. The region suffers disruption and widespread economic issues.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established, facilitating communications, trade, and economic growth within the area.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
