Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. Hull / Engineering
The Garrett Durant is designed around a 3000 dTon unstreamlined dispersed structure hull. It is fitted with onboard fuel purification but is incapable of independent wilderness refueling. The class is a long-range design: it carries enough internal fuel for four consecutive jump 1s and has sufficient additional capacity to run the power plant for 4 weeks. The vessel is capable of 1G constant acceleration and has an agility rating of 1.
- Droptanks: The class is fitted with Droptanks capable of supporting an additional jump 1 for extended range operations.
Main Section
The design is fitted with a model/2 computer adjacent to the bridge. The vessel requires 23 crew: 11x command, 3x engineering, 6x service and 3x security. Accommodations include 13.5 Staterooms, sufficient for double occupation for the crew: there are two staterooms set aside for passenger services and two low berths. Cargo capacity: 1400 dTons.
Armament
The Garrett Durant Class is unarmed. No hardpoints are specified and no fire control is installed.
History & Background (Dossier)
Garrett Durant Cargo Haulers are widely used for commercial operations in the Sena Subsector of Halcyon Sector. They typically travel in convoys, in the company of naval escort vessels dispatched from the Nexus Fleet Forces. They are almost half fuel, with the other half set aside for cargo storage. Some have been modified to carry more passengers.
