Perseus Arm
The Perseus Arm is the next major spiral arm of Galaxias found rimward of Charted Space.
- It is part of Galaxias or the "The Milky Way."
Description (Specifications)
LOCAL GALACTIC STRUCTURE:
The Local Region of Charted Space lies within a galactic arm of stars to coreward (known as the Orion Spur or Orion Arm) of the Perseus Arm. Scientists currently debate as to whether or not the Local Region of Charted Space actually lies within a rimward Spur of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm known as the Orion Spur, or whether the Local Arm is actually a more substantive minor arm of its own (the Orion Arm) that is a coreward split from the Perseus Arm.

History & Background (Dossier)
The Perseus Arm has been intermittently contacted by explorers from Charted Space over the millennia. Turokan's Expedition to the Galactic Rim purportedly crossed the Perseus Arm along a rimtrailing bearing from Charted Space as he pushed on toward the Galactic Rim, and it is uncertain just how far advance scouts and private ventures of the Solomani Rim Expeditions have pushed along the Rimward Corridor. Aslan ihatei and Hiver curiosity likewise are driving forces for those respective rimward polities, but their individual efforts in rimward exploration or expansion remain unknown.
The inner edge of the Perseus Arm along a 125° (± 15°) spin-rimward bearing from Charted Space and spanning over 2000 pc lengthwise along the arm is a region of star-formation known as the Cassiopeia Region, and contains the Cassiopeia OB2, OB5, OB6, OB7, and OB8 Associations, as well as the Perseus OB1 Association between Cassiopeia OB6 and OB8.
