Tyr (TR 1518) is a poor, nonindustrial world.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world has few prospects for economic development.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Dpres Subsector of Trojan Reach Sector.
Description (Planetology)
This system is located on the Sindalian Main.
History & Background (Dossier)
Tyr has a long and bloody history of predation against other worlds, and is one of the dominant powers along the Sindalian Main. Tyrian raiders are greatly feared by neighboring worlds.
A few centuries ago, expansionists took hold of Tyr, beginning the Tyrian Lordships period. This rapacious kingdom began invading nearby worlds. At the height of their power, Tyr held the entirety of the Sindalian Main, as well as Dpres, Connaught and Solaria. The Tyrian Lordships ended in a bloodbath when exiles from Acis brought in Aslan mercenaries from the Glorious Empire. Ensuing wars continue to this day.
World Starport (Sp)
Tyr has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)
Tyr has a population of 800,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists of Humans.
World Technology Level (T)
Tyr possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)
Tyr is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
World Law (L)
Tyr has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
