History & Background (Dossier)

Diadem Subsector was a remote backwater even by Vanguard Reach's low standards. Aside from trade with the Murians, there was little in this subsector to excite or attract. While a number of industrial worlds did emerge, they were considered to be unfortunate accidents rather than deliberate development. All of this changed with the arrival of Aslan Ihatei in the neighboring Old Colonies subsector, just years before the Imperial Civil War. A brief economic boom resulted from trade with the new colonies, creating an improvement in local conditions. And when the war broke out, the locals profited handsomely from the influx of Corellian League military and privateers sent here to prevent further ihatei advances. The Gold Road was wealth du jour, after the Collapse, bringing a steady stream of foreign merchants through the subsector. It also brought an influx in organized crime, a quiet power struggle between the Corellians and feuding Aslan clans, and no small amount of petty intrigue.
