Viezhzdi' Shtaf is an icy, non-agricultural world, whose surface is ice-capped and with nearly all of its water frozen.

  • This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
  • This world-system has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a white main sequence.
  • The secondary is a white dwarf stellar remnant

System Data

The worlds of the system have been partially surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones colder outer H- region.
  • It receives lower levels of stellar energy.

Mainworld Size (S)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Satellites

Viezhzdi' Shtaf retains two tiny planetoid moons.

  • They orbit once every few days.

History & Background (Dossier)

World Starport (St)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf has a population of 20,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Technology Level (T)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.

World Law (L)

Viezhzdi' Shtaf has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.
