History-Era: Rebellion
Kiiki was an uninteresting world with a very thin atmosphere and 50% hydrographics. It was surveyed but not colonised by the Vilani, although a refueling station was established near the gas giant to ease starship travel between the Saagii Main and the crossroad world of Pekhurra. The Interstellar Wars and the Rule of Man merely resulted in a change of ownership of the refueling station. The system was abandoned during the long night.
- The system lay empty until the arrival of the Third Imperium. Saagii established a refueling facility in the ruins of the old Rule Of Man facility.
- Following the end of the Imperial Civil War, Regent Arbellatra exiled several groups of disgruntled supporters of various Emperors of the Flag to Kiiki. A basic TL–9 infrastructure was purchased from Kelvin and installed due to Imperial largesse. The exiles arrived in 631. With a distinct lack of support from the Imperial Government, the colony found it difficult to attract the necessary investment, and it languished until the establishment of the Solomani Autonomous Region. The exiles on Kiiki quickly became enthusiastic supporters of the Solomani cause. In return, the Solomani Party invested heavily in the world. They were a useful counter-weight to the troublesome Saagii and Lexol systems. By the time of the Solomani Rim War, the population had reached 5 million with a TL–B and a Class B starport.
- During the war the anti-imperial exiles were ardent supporters of the Solomani Confederation. As a result they suffered bombardment by Imperial Forces, severely damaging the Class B port. An imperial governor was installed. Following the war, the imperial governor was removed after less than 5 years. The presence of imperial officials merely aggravated the locals. The Imperium placed the Kiiki system under the control of the loyal Saagii system.
- Saagii rebuilt the port to Class C to support the traffic along the main and across to Pekhurra. The habitable moon of Varni, which had been used primarily as a park for Kiiki citizens was opened to small scale farming to selected Saagii settlers. TAS declared Kiiki an Amber Zone due to the occasional terrorist act, and general anti-imperial prejudice of the local population.
