The Barren Arm comprises the greater trailing portion of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm. It lies outside of Charted Space and seems to be curiously devoid of almost any type of life.
- It is part of Galaxias or the "The Milky Way."
Description (Specifications)
The Barren Arm comprises the greater trailing portion of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm of Galaxias, itself an extension of the Sagittarius Arm that has its origin on the opposite side of Galaxias.
History & Background (Dossier)
The far trailing region of the Sagittarius-Carina Arm has been noted on some Scout Service Charts as The Barren Arm with no particular explanations given. Rumor has it that the frequency of occurrence of "life" is much reduced along this region of the arm than has been seen elsewhere that the Scouts have surveyed. Whether that means life in general, or just sapient life, remains unconfirmed.
There are some unconfirmed rumors of a polity or settlement of some sort toward the very end of The Barren Arm of unknown nature or origin.
