Freedonia is a nonindustrial, rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy is bustling and an increase in living conditions is expected in the near future.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Inverness Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.

History & Background (Dossier)
Freedonia combines its high tech level and shipbuilding industry to make itself valauable to its neighbours as a neutral supplier. It is the location of the Freedonian Aeronautics and Space Administration (FASA), a well-known designer and builder of many classes of vessels.[2]
World Starport (St)
Freedonia has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The world is host to a Naval Base.
World Population (P)
Freedonia has a population of 8,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population has Zhodani and Vlazhdumecta heritage.
Linguistic Topography
- Local languages descended from Vlazhdumecta.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)
Freedonia possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.
World Government (G)
Freedonia is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
World Law (L)
Freedonia has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data
- Importance: 3 (ordinary)
World Economy
- Resources: C (very abundant)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 7 (generally available)
- Efficiency: +2 (good)

The world is a member of the Zhodani Consulate and maintains the traditions and values of that state. The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
- Heterogenity: 0 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 0 (friendly)
- Strangeness: 0 (somewhat distinct)
- Symbols: 0 (abstract)
