Fieedr is a poor, industrial, high-population hellworld, with a billion or more sophonts who struggle to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- It is a world interdicted by the controlling Zhodani Consulate, located in the Ienji Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
- This is a "forbidden" world designated as a Red Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors. Everyone is forbidden to travel here.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Fieedr is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Fieedr is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Fieedr has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Fieedr has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Fieedr is a Forbidden World and is designated as a Red Zone. It presents serious risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that make it extremely dangerous to visitors.
- Travel to this world is prohibited.
When the civilization aboard the Sky Raiders' worldship fractured around -4200, they settled some of their people here. They intermixed with local remnants of the Vlazhdumecta, whose trade empire had been dismantled by the Zhodani.
The society eventually re-developed jump technology from old records and examples of drives recovered from wrecked starships. They began raiding nearby systems, and in -3915 this caught the attention of the still expanding Zhodani.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Fieedr does not have a starport. The Class X Starport is an indication that no starport exists in the system. There are no facilities or services available, and no site marked for landing.
World Population (P)[edit]
Fieedr has a population of 40,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population are descended from Vlazhdumecta, with some Loeskalth heritage.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
Local dialects, all largely descended from Vlazhdumecta, most with influence from Loes.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Fieedr possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion, and the most fundamental atomic energy.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ground cars or automobiles and tracked vehicles.
- Water: Large ships and submersibles with steel hulls.
- Air: Early aircraft including seaplanes and very early unmanned rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Fieedr is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
World Law (L)[edit]
Fieedr has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: C (very abundant)
- Labor: 9 (billions)
- Infrastructure: 8 (generally available)
- Efficiency: -1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
The world's culture is descended from that of the Vlazhdumecta, with a great deal of influence drawn from the Sky Raiders.
- Heterogenity: 9 (discordant)
- Acceptance: A (very friendly)
- Strangeness: 4 (somewhat distinct)
- Symbols: 4 (concrete)
World Timeline[edit]
- circa -4200: the Sky Raiders' civilization fractures: some make the world their home.
- -3915: the local population reverse-engineer Jump Drives and begin raiding nearby systems.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
