Uuk Sector is part of the trailing borderlands of the Two Thousand Worlds. Much of the sector is unclaimed and supposedly empty.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Like much of adjacent Xaagr Sector, Uuk Sector is a region of relatively thin stellar density. This has made the survey efforts of most interested groups more difficult. The K'kree regard this with a mixture of reactions. On the one hand, there are very few easy paths into the Two Thousand Worlds from Uuk Sector, which calms their natural paranoia somewhat. On the other hand, the sector is also more difficult to exploit.
The sector is also sparsely populated, with only a few K'kree worlds along the spinward edge, and only a few potential sophont species scattered among the lonely systems. The local K'kree suspect that there is an uncontacted civilization, or the ruins of one, in the trailing portion of the sector, but have not mustered enough interest to get their Navy to investigate, and feel no need to ask the Hivers whether they've encountered anything there.
As with much of their trailing border, the K'kree consider Uuk Sector haunted, or repellent in some undefined way. While Uuk Sector does not radiate discomfort the way the Haunted Road to rimward seems to, the vast starless spaces still make them uneasy.
