The Obsidian class Asteroid Monitor is a defensive warship.
- It is a military ship and a Asteroid Monitor.
Description (Specifications)
It is a system defense gun platform. These buffered asteroids have limited maneuver capabilities and no pursuit agility, it must lie in wait to allow prey to come to it. They are reliant on support vessels in order to stay on station for longer than a couple of weeks. The fleet tenders can be reconfigured easily to move these monitors from system to system when needed.
- They carry the heaviest meson spinal mount available in the Federation.
- It ordinarily carries two Long Boats and two Grav Sleds.
- It has a # sophont crew and # marines. They can carry a commando platoon.
