Description (Specifications)

The TC16 Jyhala class Assault Cruiser is a "cruiser" class deployed by the Trooles Confederation. Examples of the class can be encountered throughout the coreward parts of Theta Borealis Sector. The vessel has a fully streamlined conical structure hull. It is fitted with fuel scoops and fuel purification plant allowing it to perform wilderness ocean refueling.

All Staterooms are given over to the crew. All crew quarters are single occupancy. There are 4 Low Berths. Accessible areas of the hull are fitted with grav plates and inertial compensators and have full life support and environmental systems. There are internal monitoring and security systems throughout the vessel. Individual sections of the hull can be sealed off. There are multiple emergency lockers.
3.	Performance	The vessel mounts a Jump-2 drive, a Maneuver-2 drive, and an upgraded fusion Power Plant-5, giving performance of Jump-2 and 2-G acceleration. The ship has an agility rating of 0 and an emergency agility of 2. The internal fuel tankage is sufficient for a Jump-2 and gives the power plant 4 weeks duration. It is fitted with drop tanks, should extended range operations be required. The engineering section has a main control room. The jump drive utilizes a lanthanum hull grid. The jump drive is fitted with a jump governor.
4.	Electronics	Adjacent to the bridge is a Model/5 fib computer. There are multiple workstations and control points throughout the vessel. The vessel is fitted with communications equipment, a basic sensor array, and has an avionics suite. They have system range laser, microwave and radio communication arrays. It has an automatic holy transponder unit that interrogates other systems within range at all times, exchanging scriptural passages to authenticate and update all systems with the latest patch levels.

The hull is fitted with fuel scoops. The vessel is equipped with a fuel purification plant that can refine all onboard fuel in 8 hours: the plant is operated and maintained by the engineering crew.

History & Background (Dossier)

The TC16 Jyhala class Assault Cruiser class is used by the Trooles Confederation. These fully streamlined conical structures can land on planetary surfaces. They carry four dropships and a platoon of Air Rafts for the marine company. Limitations of the design include: the loss of defensive armor and a weaker sand caster battery. The particle accelerator bay is used for protected forces operations, and it requires a much larger fusion power plant. The 118 marines can use drop capsules to attack from orbit. The 4 lowberths are for wounded or prisoners. The design suffers from less drive performance, no computer back ups, no evasive agility. They dispense with the plasma guns in favor of a more powerful beam laser battery. They carry more cargo to better provision longer duration planet-side military interventions.
