Zamoran is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • Zamoran is also known as Draykoysap.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Two Little Subsector of Reft Sector.
  • This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
  • About 60% of the population is composed of baseline humans and other non-human sophonts (notably Tezcat).
  • About 40% of the population is composed of Droyne.

Description (Planetology)[edit]

History[edit]

A pastoral planet originally inhabited by the Droyne, which came to host Human and Tezcat settlements also.

There is evidence of a nuclear war on Zamoran 10,000 years ago, between Droyne and Human communities (both presumably having inhabited the world since the Ancients' Final War).

As the planet left its ice age, Humans spread south after the retreating ice, and Droyne north. There are no records of an agreement but the two species seem to have both decided that there was plenty of land and resources to be had without getting into competition that might lead to another war.

Zamoran was discovered in 260 by the Tezcat, who suffered a xenophobic reaction to the Droyne who greeted them. Subsequent Tezcat attention was aggressive. Waves of zealous crusaders arrived from their homeworld of Aum-rhar. After 150 years of war, Droyne communities were driven out of the lands the new arrivals claimed, and the planet's equatorial regions became part of the Solar Hegemony of the Tezcat.

Roughly 700,000 Humans dwell mostly in the southern hemisphere. The northern hemisphere has less useable land, and is home to an estimated 400,000 Droyne.

Languages[edit]

  • A'Prur
  • Local Human language
  • Oynprith
    • Droyne Languages: Oynprith is a ceremonial and ritualistic language apparently universal among Droyne communities. Other languages are used in casual day-to-day affairs.
