Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Xiao is a Meso World between 10,400km and 12,000km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.7G and 0.9G. The horizon will appear about 4.7km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Xiao has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Xiao has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
The equatorial regions feature a band of four continents split by narrow seas. Most of the land is jungle, giving way to savannah and scrubland at the northern and southern shorelines. Both poles are deep ocean, always free of ice.
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Extensive native life. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Fauna includes the gigaraptor, a flying hexapodal ambush predator.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Xiao was once part of a chain of outposts built by the Corellan League to support trade with the Murians. The outpost on Xiao was established in 160 and operated as a port until the first consolidation of bases led to its shutdown in 190. According to surviving Xiao records, 63 people, mostly families, chose to remain on Xiao when the League pulled out.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Xiao has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Xiao has a population of 2,000 sophonts (thousands).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
World Demographics[edit]
The remnant Human population call themselves the Xiao. The villages surrounding the old starport outpost maintain a simple lifestyle, while hunting parties search the nearby jungle for prey.

Xiao possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.

Xiao is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

Xiao has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
