Winder is a nonindustrial, rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- Its economy is bustling and an increase in living conditions is expected in the near future.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Jungleblut Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector.
- This world has an exploration base, which is similar to an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling explorer personnel and exploratory starships.
- When it was ruled by the Dominion of Alntzar this world was known as Nirvana.
- It is a member of the Trans-Blutian Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Winder has a solitary primary star.
- It is a yellow main sequence.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Winder is a Big World between 13,600km and 15,200km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 1G and 1.3G. The horizon will appear about 5.4km away. Vessels with only 1G of thrust should avoid landing on this world.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Winder has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Winder has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In past centuries Winder was called Nirvana.
The government of Winder is a bureaucracy that is extremely litigious, and believes in using force to back up its legal assertions. It has come into serious conflict with the League of Suns over a number of issues, typically revolving around League vessels unwittingly committing trespass and being impounded as a result. In such cases the League has been forced to use extreme measures to resolve the situation, sending teams to rescue the captive crews and "cut out" the impounded vessels.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Winder has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
- The world is host to an Exploration Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Winder has a population of 6,000,000 sophonts (millions).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population has Zhodani and Vlazhdumecta heritage.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Local languages descended from Vlazhdumecta.
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Winder possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World Government (G)[edit]
Winder is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law (L)[edit]
Winder has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

- Importance: 0 (unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: A (abundant)
- Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 4 (very limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
The world lies within the Zhodani Shadow, a region strongly influenced by the society and culture of the Zhodani Consulate.
- Heterogenity: 6 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
- Strangeness: 5 (distinct)
- Symbols: 8 (somewhat abstract)
