Veesene is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Veesene Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
- Veesene is a Voluntarily Regressive World

System Data[edit]
Lanten-Veesene System[edit]
The primary is Lanten, a red giant star. It has a luminosity of 2444 Sols, a mass of 8.3 Sols, and a diameter of 409 million km – the star's corona extends out to 1.36 AU, within orbital position (IV). The inner system consists of (V) a vacuum worldlet, (VII) a very hot small gas giant, (VIII) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IX) a thin atmosphere hospitable world – orbital positions (I) to (IV) lie within the star and orbital position (VI) is empty. (X) Veesene orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (XI) a dense atmosphere bigworld, (XII) a large gas giant, (XIII) a ringed small ice giant, and (XIV) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(X) Veesene[edit]
(X) Veesene is designated the mainworld. It orbits Lanten at a mean distance of 41.2 AU (6.31 billion km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 91 years 289 days and a rotation period of 16.5 hours. The axial tilt is 3 degrees. World has a diameter of 8,178 km, a density of 4.87 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.57 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.43 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen, 22% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 61% of the surface is covered in oceans cof liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: -1°C. The atmosphere is active and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is static.
Mainworld geography and topography[edit]
Total surface area: 210 million km², Water surface area: 128 million km², Land surface area: 82 million km².
Native lifeforms[edit]
Veesene has extensive native life. Their metabolic processes maintain a cycle of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Veesene has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level[edit]
Veesene possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World government[edit]
Veesene is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
