Description (Specifications)[edit]
Physiology and Environment (Ecology)[edit]
While the Tktk are unlikely to have evolved on the small worldlet they call home, Human scientists have failed to find a Tktk world of origin. They resemble Chirpers and are usually considered to be a genetically-engineered variant of that race.
Tktks have adaptations to the thin, tainted atmosphere of their world, possessing larger lungs than other Chirpers, a broader chest cavity, and more extensive blood vessels. They are also more linguistically sophisticated than most Chirpers, and have a robust storytelling culture and mythology.
Culture and Society[edit]
Tktks are generally a nomadic species who mostly inhabit regions deep in their planet's deserts and mountain ranges, areas with limited access to water. Research teams from Dostoevsky and Gabriel are studying the migratory patterns of the Tktks in an effort to determine how they survive; one theory is that they use low-level psionic abilities to find water in oases and aquifers far from the planet's seas. Tktk populations that live adjacent to Human habitations mostly exist in harmony with them. Some Tktks have been known to participate in Human agricultural activities, helping with light farm work in return for access to food, trinkets and other goods.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Tktk legends tell of a time when warring gods ‘put out the eyes of night.’ Fringe scientists have speculated that these stories refer to an Ancient weapon capable of snuffing out a star, and that there might be frozen planets in the Trojan Bight that were lost when their star was destroyed.
