Tktk is a poor, nonindustrial hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

  • Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often develop intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Dpres Subsector of Trojan Reach Sector.
  • About 60% of the population is composed of baseline humans and other non-human sophonts.
  • About 40% of the population is composed of Chirpers.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Tktk is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Tktk has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Tktk has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.

Native Sophont: Tktk[edit]

Most observers consider the natives of Tktk to be a subspecies of Chirper, though the lack of an Ancients site here has made the research community reluctant to confirm this. Tktks have adaptations to the thin tainted atmosphere of their world, possessing larger lungs than other Chirpers, a broader chest cavity, and more extensive blood vessels. They are also more linguistically sophisticated than most Chirpers, and have a robust storytelling culture and mythology.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Tktk is a poor, non-aligned hellworld on the Sindalian Main in Dpres Subsector of the Trojan Reach.

  • The world is shared between Human colonists and a native non-Human species, also called the Tktk, which resemble Chirpers, and are thought likely to be a variant of that species.
  • The IISS is considering declaring the world a Red zone to safeguard the primitives' culture.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Tktk has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Tktk has a population of 5,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Demographics[edit]

Tktks are a nomadic species who mostly inhabit regions deep in the planet's deserts and mountain ranges. Research teams from Dostoevsky and Gabriel are studying the migratory patterns of the Tktks in an effort to determine how they survive in the planet's wastelands; one theory is that they use low-level psionic ability to find water in oases and aquifers.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Tktk possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World Government (G)[edit]

Tktk is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is by representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referenda, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

World Law (L)[edit]

Tktk has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
