Suri-Lem is tidally locked to its two stars.

• The stars are always high in the sky on the bright face, they hang on horizon in the twilight zone, while the cold dark face is in permanent darkness.
• The world experiences libration - a regular wobble - as it orbits, causing the stars to move in the sky.

It orbits within the prime region of the two stars' combined habitable zone.

The system's two close stars experience periodic bouts of flare activity, which causes interference, strange tones and noises, and heavy static on commo and sensors.

• During major outbursts of flare activity radiation levels within the system are dangerously high.
• Exposure to elevated radiation levels causes serious health issues and may damage unshielded electronic devices.

Suri-Lem has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
