Striker class Destroyer: Built by the Third Reformed French Confederate Republic during the Solomani Rim War. This Destroyer was a quick metal needle wrapped around a pair of missile bays. It relied on its speed and agility for protection and was not well armored. Designed as a fleet escort, its marine shore party would insert with assault capsules and were often called upon to act as forward observers for planet-side missile and deadfall bombardment used in conjunction with orbital assaults. The low watch was a pragmatic feature and envisioned to allow for combat replacements as casualties were expected in the poorly protected design. It was also fatalistically noted that the single gig made abandoning the vessel impossible in emergencies.
