Stonziats is a high-population, industrial water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water and a billion or more sophonts in population size.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- Its economy is rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to rapidly improve barring outside forces.
- It is a member of the Zhodani Consulate in Pia Subsector of Far Frontiers Sector in the Province of Iadr Nsobl.
- This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Stonziats is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x7 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Stonziats is a Meso World between 8,800km and 10,400km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.6G and 0.8G. The horizon will appear about 4.4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Stonziats has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. This atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds, which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Stonziats has 95-100% of its surface covered by liquid water with only a few islands and archipelagos. Wilderness refueling is possible. Such worlds are Water Worlds or Ocean Worlds.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly watery world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Stonziats is a Puzzle World and is designated as an Amber Zone. It presents particular risks and dangers due to the environment or native life forms, laws or customs, or other conditions that are not well understood.
- Visitors are advised to act with caution.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Stonziats has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Stonziats has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
- The population are mostly ethnic Zhodani.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- Zdetl, the language of the Zhodani and the Zhodani Consulate.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Stonziats possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Stonziats is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.
The Zhodani Consulate maintains itself through a variety of taxes on goods and services. Each council -- planetary or higher -- has the authority to levy a tax on gross income to support services like hospitals, emergency and transport services, or the Tavrchedl'.
World Military[edit]
An Unabsorbed World is not usually permitted to maintain armed forces (other than police).
World Law (L)[edit]
Stonziats has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. Most worlds with this law level may be an Amber Zone or Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). All aspects of life rigidly controlled with disproportionate punishments for even minor legal infractions. There is no difference between the police and the military. This world is a full-fledged police state. Oppression is legalized, though not routine.
Three broad categories of crime are recognized by the Zhodani Consulate: inadvertent, incited, and insane. The concept of premeditated crime for personal gain fits under the insane heading.
- Inadvertent crime is an unintentional violation or infraction of the law, resulting from inattention. For minor cases the usual punishment is a small fine.
- Incited crime is an infraction of a law brought about by another, often resulting from an overreaction to inadvertent crime or misfortune. The solution is re-education.
- Insane crime is a general heading for most major crimes against property or individuals.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: 1 (ordinary)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: F (extremely abundant)
- Labor: 9 (billions)
- Infrastructure: B (very extensive)
- Efficiency: +5 (very advanced)

- Heterogenity: F (fragmented)
- Acceptance: B (extremely friendly)
- Strangeness: A (incomprehensible)
- Symbols: E (extremely abstract)
