Stafida is a pre-agricultural world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.
- This world toils under the control of a military government with conditions reflecting that situation, including curtailed civil rights and limited freedoms.
- It is a world within the Kostov Confederate Republic, a member state of the Solomani Confederation, in the Kostov Subsector of Neworld Sector.
- This world has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships.
- This world has a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces.
Description / Astrography & Planetology[edit]

System Data[edit]
2 Gas Giants — 2 Planetoid Belts — 11 Other Worlds
An inner belt exists at 1 AU from the primary and is unusually dense, both in total mass per volume and in morphology. The total mass is easily enough to form a standard or larger world. Kostov scientists hypothesize that such world may have been somehow destroyed to form this belt.
Stafida orbits at 1.8 AU, on the colder side of the habitable zone.
The largest gas giant, Vlissides, orbits at 13 AU. The ice giant, Gamma, orbits at 55 AU with an eccentric orbit.
A standard belt exists between them at roughly 25 AU.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Stafida is a small world with a lower-than-average gravity and a thin atmosphere. It has a large, captured asteroid as a moon. While large, this moon retains a dual-sphere shape indicating a low-speed, incomplete merger at some point in its formation.
Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]
Slightly over half of the surface is covered by 2 large oceans which do not interconnect, coming only within 200km of each other. The low gravity and high humidity mean that Stafida is a mist-world, where the sky is rarely visible from the surface.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Plant life exists. Typically, the plants here are black or blue and specialize in collecting the red and infrared spectrum that penetrates the mists.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Solomani Security keeps a close eye on things to ensure the security of the Solomani State and the well-being of its loyal citizens. Almost anyone could be a SolSec informant, passing on all sorts of useful information: some gain a reward or benefit for their actions, others are coerced, while many see it as an act of duty to help protect the the State and its interests.
World Starport[edit]
Stafida has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Stafida Highport is a massive Class-B starport which serves as both a military and civilian trade port. Weapons are required to be registered with Port security if they are to be carried at the port; weapon registration is commonly denied for non-military travellers.
The Highport is also the de facto government center for the system, embodied as Admiral Kiev Hannsenovich, though an active planetside Govenor's office is maintained, and inspected on a regular basis. Vice-Governor Captain Jedorovich holds the civilian command.
Rear Admirals Namorska and Lavitskiy operate the Naval Command and Land Forces Command respectively.
World Technology Level[edit]
Stafida possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government[edit]
Stafida has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
World Law Level[edit]
Stafida has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Military[edit]
Naval forces are rotated regularly here, but there are usually at least one task group containing 3 or 4 capital ships with tenders and escorts. Military philosophy here hearkens back to Terran force priorities, with emphases on spinal-mount weapons and missile barrage delivery.
World Economy[edit]
The economy is focused on providing military resources: metals, advanced materials, low-tech munitions.
Agriculture is divided into local agriculture using indigenous edible plant life, and large scale hydroponic agriculture of imported species.
Trade Data[edit]
Imports: advanced electronics, scientific equipment.
Exports: raw materials, foodstuffs, T-9 or below munitions.
World Demographics[edit]
Humanity 100%
World Culture[edit]
Baseline culture is descended from Terran Slavic nations in the Europe region.
This culture is strongly influenced by the Kostov military mindset and vision. Most organizations are strongly hierarchical with an emphasis on order-taking and order-execution. Education is focused on skill acquisition and retention; physical education is prioritized using military standards. All universities are military schools, using the cadet system.
World Language/s[edit]
Kostov Russian, Anglic
Urbanization[edit]
Urban environments are constructed using T12 materials and techniques imported from Kostov. Most cities have redundant fusion power plants. Anti-air and Anti-space batteries are also standard to defend both civilian zones and downports.
